Cheese-Stuffed Swiss Chard Stalks
Swiss chard stalks filled with cheese, battered and fried. They use the part that almost always gets thrown away.

Ingredients

- sliced cheese8
- flour2.75 oz
- swiss chard1
- egg2
- olive oil1.75 cup
- salt1 tsp
Method

Separate the stalks from the chard (save the leaves for another recipe) and cut into 10 cm pieces.

Cook them in salted water 8 minutes, drain and dry.

Make sandwiches with two stalk pieces and sliced cheese in between.

Dredge in the flour and beaten egg and fry in the olive oil until golden.
